In 2009 and 2012, Equitrekking was awarded two Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Single Camera Photography. In 2009, host and producer Darley Newman and executive producer Chip Ward were nominated for Daytime Emmys in the Outstanding Special Class Series category alongside MTV's popular and longtime series True Life and Made. In 2010, Equitrekking again received a nomination for a Daytime Emmy in the Outstanding Special Class Series category. In 2011, Equitrekking was nominated for Outstanding Special Class Writing with host and producer Darley Newman and executive producer Chip Ward, up against The Ellen DeGeneres Show and The Rally To Restore Sanity And/Or Fear, which broadcast on Comedy Central and was written by Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert and their team of 31 writers. The North American Travel Journalist Association has awarded Equitrekking Best Travel Broadcast two years running. Equitrekking's companion book Equitrekking Travel Adventures on Horseback, published by Chronicle Books and written by Darley Newman, received the Merit Award for Best Travel Book 2008 from the North American Travel Journalist Association (NATJA). Equitrekking has also won two Telly Awards. In 2013, Equitrekking was nominated for three Daytime Emmy Awards for Writing, Photography and Outstanding Travel Program.
